THEY ACHIEVED HISTORIC SUCCESS: The chess national team of the deaf of Serbia won three medals at the World Team Championship!

The chess national team of the deaf of Serbia achieved a top and historic result at the World Team Chess Championship for the Deaf, held in Roquetas de Mar, with dignity representing the Republic of Serbia on the international sports scene.

In the competition of the world’s best national teams, our chess players demonstrated extraordinary quality, competitive maturity, mental strength, and an unwavering sporting spirit, achieving results that exceeded the expectations of the sports public.

The chess national team of the deaf of Serbia won the silver medal in classical chess, the bronze medal in rapid chess, and the bronze medal in blitz chess.

A special contribution to this great success was made by the youngest member of the national team, Jovan Pavicevic, who with brilliant games won the silver medal in the individual competition in blitz chess, confirming that we have before us one of the most talented young chess players in deaf sports.

The national team of Serbia consisted of Dragan Moldovanovic, Dragan Zivic, Rade Cimesa, Djerdj Tapei, Milos Tonic, and Jovan Pavicevic.

The achieved results represent one of the most significant successes of Serbian deaf sports in the field of chess and a confirmation of the continuous, dedicated, and systemic work of the athletes, the professional staff, and the Sports Association of the Deaf of Serbia.
