Serbian national rowing team members, Martin Mačković and Nikolaj Pimenov, won the bronze medal in the double sculls discipline at the Rowing World Cup in Seville, confirming their excellent form after being among the most successful crews during the competition.
The Serbian crew took third place in the A final with a time of 6:20.27, behind the Netherlands (6:17.47) and Belgium (6:18.82), while the national teams of Spain, Poland, and Great Britain remained behind the Serbian double.
Mačković and Pimenov held the second position for most of the final race, ultimately winning the bronze with just a 1.45-second deficit behind Belgium and 2.80 seconds behind the winning crew from the Netherlands.
The Serbian double sculls reached the medal after excellent performances throughout the entire competition. As a reminder, they won first place in both their qualification group and the semifinals.
At the first World Cup in Seville, 37 countries participated with 203 crews and around 500 rowers, while the men’s double sculls discipline, with 24 registered crews, was the second largest at the competition, right behind the men’s single sculls.
