In the continuation of the operation to shed light on the circumstances under which A.N. disappeared on May 12, 2026, by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, members of the Criminal Police Directorate, the Service for Combating Crime, and the Service for Combating Organized Crime of the MUP RS deprived of liberty the Head of the Police Directorate for the City of Belgrade, Veselin Milić.
V.M. has been ordered into detention for up to 48 hours due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offenses of Failure to report a criminal offense and perpetrator and Assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense, within which time frame he will be brought for questioning before the acting public prosecutor.
Aleksandar Nešović, aka Baja, who was linked to the criminal group of Dejan Stojanović Keka from New Belgrade, disappeared three nights ago in Belgrade, after, according to unofficial information, he went to meet an acquaintance.
In the restaurant where they allegedly met, the police found two shell casings and traces of blood, which are assumed to belong to Nešović, and a telephone in a nearby dumpster. In an extensive operation yesterday, eight people were detained, including one woman, who are suspected of being connected to this case, and the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the details.
“On May 13, 2026, in the evening hours, the Prosecutor’s Office was informed that J. M. had reported the disappearance of her common-law husband A. N. According to her knowledge, the last time they spoke on May 12, 2026, around 11 PM, A. N. was staying at a restaurant in Senjak, where he met with friends. After that, after 11 PM, A. N. stopped answering her calls and his mobile phone was turned off,” states the announcement of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Phone in the dumpster
Furthermore, the statement of the prosecutor’s office adds that a phone of an unknown owner was found in a dumpster.
“Upon the report of the disappearance, at 9:30 PM, the public prosecutor of the VJT in Belgrade began conducting an investigation at the specified location, in the presence of police officers from the UKP and forensics experts from the NCKF. On that occasion, two HP 9 mm shell casings were found, as well as multiple blood traces in the establishment, which are suspected to belong to the victim, who disappeared. The investigation continued on Thursday, when an ‘iPhone’ mobile phone of an unknown owner was found in a dumpster across from the establishment,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
Due to suspicions that they are connected to this case in some way, as announced by the Prosecutor’s Office, a total of eight people have been arrested.
“S. V. and M. S. were arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of aggravated attempted murder, illicit possession of weapons, and causing general danger. Also, N.L. (50), the owner of the establishment in Senjak where A.N. was last seen, was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense and failure to report a criminal offense and perpetrator. Additionally, a waiter at the same restaurant was also arrested,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
“Three police officers were arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense and failure to report a criminal offense and perpetrator, and they are B.M. (41), S.S. (33), and P.P. (47),” the Prosecutor’s Office says.
Forensics experts at the scene
Forensics experts from the NKFC and the prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade entered the restaurant where Nešović was last seen once again last night. According to initial information, investigators are using a special liquid used for these purposes, luminol, to try to discover if there are traces of blood in the restaurant.
“The investigation is ongoing, evidence is being gathered, it is suspected that the missing person was killed, but his body has not been found,” says a source from the investigation, revealing that the forensics experts and the prosecutor are trying to find out if there are traces in the restaurant that someone tried to destroy in the meantime.
As a reminder, Aleksandar Nešović Baja was targeted by contract killers about four months ago. At that time, the police in Senjak arrested a citizen of Sweden and his female accomplice from South Africa, who are suspected of being hired by members of the Vračar clan.
By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, members of the Criminal Police Directorate, the Service for Combating Crime, and the Service for Combating Organized Crime of the MUP RS also arrested D.V., the wife of suspect S.V. There are grounds for suspicion that D.V. brought a pistol from a “stash” with which S.V. committed the criminal offense to the detriment of A.N., who is being searched for.
