Serbian Stefan Takov became the European taekwondo champion, while Andrea Bokan won the silver medal at the championship in Munich.
Belgrade native Stefan Takov reached the title in the category up to 74 kilograms dominantly, defeating Georgian Zurab Kuntarašvili in the final with 2:0 in rounds.
As the third seed, Takov had a bye at the start, and then went on to defeat Bulgarian Stamenov and Pole Čudnač in succession.
In the semifinals, he was convincing against Croat Marko Golubić (2:0), only to secure his second European gold in his career in the final with a smart fight in the finish of both rounds.

The great success of the Serbian team was completed by Andrea Bokan in the category up to 54 kilograms. On her way to the final, she eliminated Eja Makas from BiH, Italian Maloberti, and then in the semifinals, after a major turnaround, Frenchwoman Fofana (2:1).
In the battle for gold, Andrea faced Turk Akgul. After the Turkish competitor convincingly won the first round, Bokan fought back in the second and equalized.
However, in the deciding period, Akgul was more precise, winning 5:1 and reaching the title, while the young Serbian competitor won a valuable silver.
