Young national team members of Serbia continued a series of great successes at tournaments held in Slovenia. During the period from November 7 to 9, Slovenia hosted competitors within the framework of two international tournaments – Li-Ning Ljubljana Cup U17 2025 and Li-Ning Ljubljana Youth Cup 2025. At this prestigious and traditional tournament, Serbian players up to 15 years old achieved a notable result, winning as many as four bronze medals. Members of the Badminton Club Belgrade, Konstantin Ristić, Milica Tomić, and Nađa Todorović, shone at the competition which gathered the best young competitors from all over Europe. In the mixed doubles competition, Konstantin and Nađa were better than the Slovenian pair Karlovšek/Sklepič (21-10, 21-13), the Austrians Belski/Mahr (21-14, 21-16), and Gfrerer/Vu (16-21, 21-3, 21-17). In a close semifinal duel, the Slovenian pair Mašić/Vrhovnik was better in two sets (22-20, 23-21), whereby Ristić and Todorović took 3rd place in the final ranking.

Nađa showed a brilliant game in the women’s doubles competition as well, where she repeated the success with her teammate Milica Tomić and won another bronze medal. The Belgrade girls defeated the first seeds, the Romanian pair Fulop/Vlad in three sets (21-19, 18-21, 21-16), and then the Slovenians Utroša and Žitek (21-13, 21-15) in the first round. The local players Bregar and Vrhovnik were too strong an opponent in the semifinal match, defeating our representatives with a result of 21-4, 21-14, thus securing another bronze medal for the Serbian team for Nađa and Milica. Konstantin Ristić won his second, and the overall fourth bronze for Serbia, playing together with the Hungarian Rego Palkovics in the men’s doubles competition. With victories over Belski and Gfrerer (21-13, 18-21, 21-14), and then Hotko and Novak (21-10, 21-17), Konstantin and Rego qualified for the semifinals, where they were stopped by the Austrians Gedara and Petrašek, who won in two sets (21-16, 21-18). “First and foremost, I would praise all the competitors for the effort shown and the approach to the matches, and then congratulate them on the achieved results and the medals won. Although there were ups and downs, the level of play throughout the entire tournament was at an enviable level, and I am especially pleased with the mutual support and great sporting atmosphere in our team. In the coming period, we will continue with training and preparations for future challenges,” stated coach Borko Petrović upon returning from Ljubljana.
