Students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine voted yesterday to continue the complete blockade of the faculty. Student Mina tells N1 that there are now “more reasons for the blockade than last year.”
Veterinary student Mina tells N1 that the students of this faculty actually never left the blockade.
“We did come out of the total blockade, and we simply made the decision at the plenum to return, that is, to continue the total blockade of the faculty. That was the will of the plenum. Unfortunately, there are more reasons now than there were before. Students suffer repression, professors are afraid. What is sad is that there are more reasons now than there were last year,” she explains.
As she states, the students are awaiting the decision of the Teaching and Scientific Council and a meeting with the administration.
“What I must emphasize is that we have always had a more than fair cooperation with both our administration and the professors, and that they have always respected the will of the students. We sincerely hope and believe that it will be the same now,” she states.
She also adds that the entrance to the faculty is not blocked, and that the Institute for Medical Research, as well as the clinics, are located in the building.
She also says that they are following the current situation and are waiting for November 17th when the hearing of former minister Goran Vesić is scheduled and that this can be one of the very important factors in the fulfillment of student demands.
She also states that they have received support from colleagues from other faculties and that they hope their plenums will also decide to remain together in this struggle, and that it will last until all student demands are met.
