Many international media outlets went live from Novi Sad today, where a major commemorative gathering is being held to mark the anniversary of the tragedy in which, exactly one year ago, 16 people lost their lives.
BBC News, Sky News, AFP, and Turkish Radio Television (TRT World) are among the leading world media broadcasting live from Novi Sad.
“The protests have grown and will not stop,” said a Sky News reporter live on air.
Agence France-Presse writes that today, on the day marking one year since the deadly accident at the Novi Sad Railway Station, thousands of demonstrators are laying flowers and lighting candles in front of it, and that tens of thousands of people are expected to pay tribute to the 16 victims and “demand transparency, justice, and elections.”
TRT World reported that tens of thousands of people gathered in Novi Sad to mark one year since the collapse of the station canopy, in which 16 people were killed.
