Just two weeks after the solemn opening of the high-speed rail line, where attendance was allowed exclusively to SNS loyalists while citizens were prohibited access by the police, new cracks appeared on the underpass near “Patria,” announced the Party of Freedom and Justice (Stranka slobode i pravde – SSP) from Subotica.
The City Board of the Party of Freedom and Justice Subotica warned about the same damage two years ago, which the contractors only painted over at the time, and today workers are again repairing the structure with weld on the concrete reinforcement, they added.
“In addition, the railway station in Subotica is not even open, because the works were not carried out according to the construction project, which further confirms that quality and expertise are being sacrificed on the altar of propaganda and party loyalty,” the statement said.
It is also pointed out that “this image clearly shows what it looks like when corruption is built in instead of quality construction material, and propaganda replaces supervision and expertise.”
“While the government boasts about ‘historic’ projects, the facilities are falling apart after just two weeks, while the anniversary of the tragedy in Novi Sad, in which 16 people died due to the regime’s corruption and negligence, is approaching,” the SSP from Subotica states.
The City Board of the Party of Freedom and Justice Subotica demands that the construction inspection immediately visit the site, determine the true state of affairs, and order a permanent solution, along with the accountability of all those whose signatures and omissions led to this situation, they state.
“Because when concrete reinforcement is being welded two weeks after the opening, it’s not the concrete that’s breaking, it’s the system,” they conclude.
