The United States will begin providing Ukraine with intelligence data to support long-range missile attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. This is the first time since the beginning of the war in Ukraine that the American administration has approved such aid, the Wall Street Journal exclusively reports.

President Donald Trump gave the green light to the Pentagon and intelligence agencies to help Kyiv carry out these strikes, while Washington simultaneously encourages NATO allies to engage in similar cooperation, the WSJ claims.

This decision marks a deepening of the American commitment to Ukraine at a time when peace talks with Moscow are stalled.

According to anonymous officials, the collected information will enable Ukraine to target “refineries, pipelines, power plants, and other infrastructure deep within Russian territory,” with the goal of weakening the Kremlin’s war economy.

The administration is also considering the delivery of Tomahawk and Barracuda missiles, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 800 kilometers.

“We are waiting for written instructions from the White House before sharing the necessary intelligence data,” a U.S. official told the WSJ.

This move comes at a time when Trump is changing his rhetoric about the war in Ukraine.

After his attempts to mediate between Kyiv and Moscow have failed so far, Trump has become increasingly dissatisfied with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
