Crvena Zvezda defeated Stuttgart 5-1 in the 5th round of the Champions League group stage.
The match was played at the “Rajko Mitić” stadium.
The scorers for Zvezda were Silas in the 12th, Krunić in the 31st minute, Ivanić in the 65th, and Radonjić in the 70th and 88th minutes.
Stuttgart’s only goal was scored by Demirović in the fifth minute.
Zvezda thus recorded their first victory in the elite competition and now have three points, while Stuttgart remained on four points.
Zvezda once again conceded a cheap goal in the fifth minute. The guests took the lead practically from their first real chance. Zvezda’s defense once again intervened poorly, and Demirović routinely from the penalty spot defeated Guteša.
But that was all from the guests and a fantastic evening for the red-whites followed.
After conceding a goal, Zvezda came out high, pressed, and it paid off quickly. Silas shot beautifully from the edge of the penalty area and with a shot into the near corner defeated the helpless Nibel.
As a former Stuttgart player, Silas did not celebrate the goal he scored.
Zvezda was a completely equal rival to the favored guest, and a complete turnaround came in the 31st minute. After a cross from Seol from the left, Krunić receives the ball on the penalty spot and sends it into Nibel’s top corner.
With this result, they went into halftime.
In the second half, the initiative was with the guests, but Zvezda missed a great chance in the 52nd minute. A quick counter-attack, Milson played Silas through, who slipped and shot straight at Nibel.
Another great chance for Zvezda in the 57th minute. A fantastic ball from Elšnik into the depth, Šerif received the ball and wanted to round Nibel, but the German goalkeeper made a great save.
Then Silas and Ivanić missed, and then Zvezda’s blitz.
First, Ivanić headed in the 65th minute, defeating Nibel after a cross from Elšnik.
Five minutes later, Radonjić scored the fourth goal after a quick counter-attack and an assist from Krunić.
The final result was also scored by Radonjić after a fantastic counter-attack and a great finish.
A great and unreal victory for the red-whites.
