A month after launching the investigation into the murder of Aleksandar Nešović, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that, based on the evidence collected so far and in accordance with Article 296, Paragraph 1 in connection with Article 306 of the Criminal Procedure Code, it had issued an order expanding the investigation into the aggravated murder committed on May 12, 2026, at Restaurant “27,” as well as related criminal offenses.
The prosecutor’s office recalls that, following the filing of a criminal complaint by the Criminal Police Directorate, the Crime Suppression Service of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, an extensive prosecutorial investigation was launched during which material evidence was collected, witnesses were questioned, and numerous expert examinations were ordered, some of which have not yet been completed.
Under the order expanding the investigation, Saša V. and Mario S. are charged with aggravated murder as co-perpetrators under Article 114, Paragraph 1, Item 1 of the Criminal Code in connection with Article 33 of the Criminal Code, as well as with the illegal manufacture, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials, and causing public danger.
Danka V. is suspected of assisting in the commission of the aggravated murder, as well as participating in the illegal carrying of a firearm.
Special evidentiary actions have also been ordered against eight additional suspects.
According to the investigation, there is reasonable suspicion that on May 12, 2026, at Restaurant “27,” Saša V. and Mario S., acting as co-perpetrators, intentionally and in a treacherous manner deprived Aleksandar Nešović of his life while unlawfully carrying a pistol of unknown make, caliber 9×19 millimeters.
The prosecutor’s office also states that Saša V., through the use of a firearm, endangered the lives and bodies of other people present in the establishment.

Danka V. is accused of assisting Saša V. and Mario S. by providing them with the means to commit the crime, namely the pistol that investigators believe was used in the murder.
According to the findings, at approximately 10:45 p.m. on the fatal evening, Aleksandar Nešović left his home in his black BMW X7 and headed toward Restaurant “27.” Upon arrival, he saw Saša V., with whom he had previously been in conflict.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Saša V. addressed him with the words:
“Why are you frowning at me?”
Nešović briefly replied:
“See you.”
He then left the restaurant, got into his vehicle, and headed back toward his home.

However, at approximately 11:02 p.m., a phone call followed that investigators believe proved decisive.
Saša V. called Nešović and asked him to return to the restaurant so they could settle their disagreements. According to the order expanding the investigation, the suspect spoke emotionally and almost in tears, saying:
“Why are you frowning at me, why are you frowning at your brother.”
At the same time, according to the investigation, he swore on his children that he had no bad intentions.
Believing he wanted reconciliation and expecting no danger, Aleksandar Nešović got back into his BMW at 11:08 p.m. and headed alone toward Restaurant “27.”
After returning to the restaurant shortly after 11:14 p.m., Aleksandar Nešović sat at a table with Saša V. According to the prosecutor’s office, a brief verbal argument soon broke out between them.
Not long afterward, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Saša V., as suspected, fired an undetermined number of shots from a pistol of unknown make, caliber 9×19 millimeters, in Nešović’s direction. At the same time, the shooting endangered the safety of guests and employees who were inside the restaurant.
The prosecutor’s office states that the pistol had previously been handed by Danka V., following a call and instructions from Saša V., to Mario S. in front of her residence in Belgrade. She allegedly carried the weapon without authorization from the competent authorities.
Aleksandar Nešović died as a result of gunshot wounds. According to the investigation’s findings, death occurred due to massive blood loss caused by the destruction of blood vessels, thoracic and abdominal organs, as well as soft tissue along the projectile paths. Numerous injuries to his neck, torso, and upper extremities were documented.
While Saša V. and Aleksandar Nešović were inside the restaurant, police officers Miloš J. and Dušan V. were allegedly stationed outside the establishment. They were there as members of Saša V.’s personal security detail.
The investigation states that they heard gunshots coming from the restaurant but failed to report the criminal offense.
Following the murder, what investigators describe as an organized effort to conceal evidence of the crime allegedly took place.
The prosecutor’s office states that Nenad L., Vuk Š., and Petar U. assisted Saša V. and Mario S. by removing traces, cleaning and wiping down the crime scene, and removing damaged inventory from the restaurant. In addition, all three are suspected of failing to report an aggravated murder punishable by life imprisonment. After the traces were removed, Aleksandar Nešović’s body was taken out of the restaurant.
According to the investigation, Dejan S., Mario S., and Saša V. then transported the body in an unidentified vehicle and at a still undetermined time to Jarkovac Lake. There they were joined by Petar U. and Vuk Š., after which the body was placed in a blue barrel, covered with concrete, and buried in the ground near the lake.
Members of the Gendarmerie discovered Aleksandar Nešović’s body on May 21, 2026.

The investigation also established that from May 13 to 14, acting on the instructions of Saša V. and Mario S., Dejan S. transported the suspects to several locations throughout Serbia in a Fiat Punto. The vehicle was ultimately abandoned in Surčin, where Dejan S. was arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, investigators found Bosnia and Herzegovina passports in the names of Saša V. and Mario S., personal documents, a registration certificate for an Audi Q8, and €10,000 in cash.
Suspect Jasna Ž. is accused of removing two sacks containing material used to eliminate traces of the crime from the trunk of a Golf 5 driven by Dejan S.’s common-law wife on May 15 and disposing of them at a still unknown location in Petlovo Brdo.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Dejan S. had transferred those sacks the previous day from his Fiat Punto into another vehicle near an overpass in Stara Pazova.
In addition to assisting perpetrators after the commission of a criminal offense, Jasna Ž. is also charged with failing to report the aggravated murder.
Among the suspects is Veselin M., who at the time of the events was the head of the Belgrade Police Directorate.
The prosecutor’s office suspects that, as an official, he knew about the criminal offense but failed to report it, even though he learned of it while performing his official duties.
In addition to Veselin M., evidentiary actions will also be carried out against Nenad L., Vuk Š., Petar U., Dejan S., Jasna Ž., Miloš J., and Dušan V. on suspicion that they committed the criminal offenses of failing to report a criminal offense and its perpetrator, or assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense.
