K.K., the boy killer from “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School, was returned to the psychiatric institution where he is staying for the murder of nine children and the school guard after five hours of giving testimony.
He was brought to the Special Court this morning in an ambulance, accompanied by workers from the center for social work. He wore a cap on his head, while police officers shielded him with umbrellas.
K.K. was giving testimony in the case being conducted against his parents, Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, and this was his second confrontation with them.
As “Blic” unofficially learns, immediately upon being brought to the witness stand, he stated that he stands by everything he declared during the previous trial.
In this proceeding, he holds the status of a victim and has the right to refuse to testify. However, according to a “Blic” source familiar with the case, he stated that he would testify.
His hearing has been ongoing since 9 AM, and according to a “Blic” reporter in front of the court building—given that the hearing is closed to the public—a short break was taken after two hours of questioning, during which some family members of those killed at “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School stepped out in front of the court building.
As reported by Informer, K.K. stated that he had 211 absences from school. “I had 211 absences; I had a cold once, and for the other days, I pretended to be sick because I found it exhausting to go to school,” he said.
During the investigation, when the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade was collecting evidence against Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, K.K. was questioned via video link from the Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry for Children and Youth, where he has been since the moment he killed nine peers and a school security worker.
He is not included in any court proceedings because, at the time the criminal offense was committed, he was not criminally responsible.
Unlike the investigation on October 8, 2024, he was transported today by an ambulance from the hospital to the Special Court building in Ustanička Street.
Mother arrived with lawyers, father brought from detention
Miljana Kecmanović, the mother of K.K., arrived at the Special Court building in Belgrade, where the trial of her and her husband continues today, accompanied by her lawyers, while the victims—namely family members of the killed and wounded—arrived accompanied by their legal representatives.
His father is brought from the detention facility where he has been held since his arrest last year.
As a reminder, the questioning of K.K. at the trial of his parents, Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, was planned for today.
The minor was most likely brought from the healthcare institution, where he has been for nearly three years, in an ambulance, with several police cars positioned in front and behind.
This is his third testimony, as he was questioned during the investigation and during the previous proceeding.
During the retrial, the accused Kecmanovićs presented their defense, while the victims—family members of the killed and wounded—were also heard.
The Kecmanovićs have denied guilt since the beginning of the trial.
This trial is otherwise closed to the public at the proposal of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade to protect the interests of minors and the privacy of the victims; the proceeding is being repeated because the Court of Appeal in Belgrade overturned the first-instance verdict, which had sentenced the Kecmanovićs to multi-year prison terms, and ordered a retrial.
