The fight against fires across Serbia has been going on for more than a month, with a large number of firefighters, volunteer associations, as well as students and citizens participating in firefighting efforts. However, Minister for Public Investments Darko Glišić accused students and citizens themselves of being responsible for the fires in Serbia on Pink television.
Appearing on Pink television, Minister Darko Glišić accused students in blockades and citizens who support them of causing the fires in Serbia, which have been raging across the country for more than a month.
“The only ones responsible for the fires over the past year, year and a half are that blockade scum who went around setting fire to buildings and premises across Serbia, in Valjevo and so on, in many places. So, in some other cities they also shot, attacked, assaulted property and people’s lives,” Glišić said.
During the program, he said that, as he put it, the “blockaders” were the only people who had caused fires over the past year and a half and that they had tried to set fire to buildings with people inside them.
It is not unusual for a minister, especially on that television station, to accuse students of numerous events in our country, and the public was appalled by such statements, given that students have been working side by side with firefighters at the scenes for days, as well as collecting aid for everyone fighting the flames across Serbia.
