Radomir Saičić, a candidate on the Student List, said that the list would send delegations to Moscow after the formation of Serbia’s new government to discuss extending the Russian gas supply agreement, which expires on December 31, and US sanctions against NIS.

He revealed which economic measures would be taken at the beginning of their term in office.

“In the first 30 days, we will ensure the stability of the dinar exchange rate, regular payment of salaries and pensions, as well as energy supplies, including oil, gas and the operation of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia. To that end, our delegations will hold talks in Washington (the expiration of OFAC’s decision on the temporary suspension of sanctions against NIS) and Moscow (the gas arrangement), with the aim of securing longer-term agreements. The 2027 budget will also be established and adopted, with a shift in spending priorities and greater transparency,” Saičić said in an interview with NiN.

In addition, he said that within the first 100 days, measures would be taken aimed at “decriminalizing the state, restructuring and professionalizing management,” adding that the goal was for the process of forming the new government “not to take too long or be dragged out to the very limits of the law.”

Saičić previously said that the “Student List” movement did not intend to impose sanctions on Russia. As he pointed out, Serbia has also experienced sanctions itself and understands that they are not a solution to problems.
