The Serbian national football team has almost certainly missed out on qualifying for the next World Cup. The team led by coach Dragan Stojković was defeated in Leskovac by Albania with a score of 1:0 (1:0). The only goal was scored by Rey Manaj in the final seconds of the first half.
After this match, Serbia sits third in Group K with seven points from five games. Albania is now second with 11 points from six matches, while England is first with 15 points from five games.
Serbia still has to play away against Andorra and England, and will host Latvia.
Albania will play away against Andorra and will host England.
Although the match in Leskovac carried great importance, the team Stojković sent onto the pitch did not play like it. Serbia did have possession from the start but failed to create real chances.

Albania occasionally threatened on the counterattack, and one such play turned into a goal.
The Albanians took a free kick, the ball flew into the penalty area, where Manaj reacted best in the crowd and beat Petrović with a powerful shot.
Serbia had several chances in the second half — Vlahović above all — but the team simply lacked composure to score and at least secure a draw that would have kept their World Cup hopes alive.
As it stands, Serbia can only hope for a miracle in the final stage of the qualifiers — that Albania slips up while Serbia pulls off a great feat.
