The “Stop Serbia” protest was held today, November 29, at multiple locations in Belgrade, as well as in Novi Sad and other cities in Serbia. After 15 minutes of silence, citizens dispersed peacefully, while students in front of the Belgrade Rectorate announced a continuation of the blockade.

The parliamentary opposition, several groups of citizens and activists, as well as the ProGlas Initiative, called today, as in the previous two Fridays, for a 15-minute silence, from 11:52 to 12:07, to pay tribute to the 15 victims of the collapse of the canopy at Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1st, and to demand political and criminal responsibility for this tragedy.

Several faculties in Belgrade are also stopping for 15 minutes, and a 12-hour blockade of the Rectorate has been announced. In Novi Sad, this protest action in solidarity with the victims is also taking place at the site of the tragedy near the Railway Station, as well as in the city center, near the court buildings and other locations.

The parliamentary opposition, namely the Freedom and Justice Party, blocked the street near the National Assembly and unfurled a black flag.

There was a minor incident with a driver who got out of his car and demanded to pass through because he wanted to drive through the lined-up students.

In Novi Sad, at the blockade at the intersection near the court, Maksima Gorkog Street, there were several provocateurs.

In front of the Organized Crime Prosecution in Belgrade, there are representatives of ProGlas, DS MP Srđan Milivojević and activist of the Local Front Predrag Voštinić.

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who are securing the prosecution approached a young man who was carrying a banner saying “Your hands are bloody” and led him down the street. Milivojević, who also followed them, returned after a short time with the young man and told the journalists that he had prevented the young man from being arrested.

An incident occurred in Požarevac.

Opposition councilors in the Kragujevac city assembly announced that they would pay tribute to the victims in Novi Sad during the session at 11:52, but the Assembly President Ivica Momčilović skillfully took a break until 12:55. Citizens stood in front of the city administration, and drivers passing through the surrounding streets of the city center paid tribute to the victims by honking their car horns.
