“After almost two months of downtime, production of petroleum products at the Pančevo Refinery began operating today. Nearly 2,000 employees are working intensively on production, and eurodiesel will be available at fuel stations starting January 27,” Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated on Instagram.
The minister emphasized that she is proud that the promise given to citizens has been fulfilled.
“I am proud of my colleagues in the Government of Serbia that, through diplomatic efforts led by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, we managed to fulfill the promise given to citizens that they would not feel any consequences of the sanctions imposed on the company NIS,” Đedović Handanović said.
The transport of crude oil for the Pančevo Refinery began on Tuesday this week via JANAF.
On January 9, the company NIS announced that it had arranged the import of the first quantities of crude oil via JANAF for the needs of the Pančevo refinery.
According to announcements, it can be expected today that a final purchase and sale agreement on the sale of the Russian stake will be concluded and submitted to OFAC.
In addition to MOL, the company ADNOC from the Emirates is also interested in a potential partnership in NIS. NIS has an operating license valid until January 23, and a negotiation license valid until March 24.
The U.S. OFAC imposed sanctions on NIS on October 9 due to majority Russian ownership.
