Serbia’s football team managed to secure a victory in competitive matches for the first time since October 17th of the previous year, but this didn’t stop Dragan Stojković Piksi, the “Eagles” coach, from acting arrogantly and taking offense at the fans’ chants.

While many fans had called for his resignation after the team’s disastrous performance at the European Championship, he seems completely unfazed by this.
He even went so far as to lecture the fans on how they should cheer. It’s clear that he was more concerned with this than with the team’s performance over the past year.
At a press conference, he made the following statement:
“Can someone explain to me, I don’t understand, we’re leading 2-0, it’s like the 80th minute and we hear from the stands ‘Come on, let’s all attack’, I don’t understand things like that. Okay, Jovic had a chance for 3-0, ‘Come on, let’s all attack’, but you’re 2-0 up, it’s a bit incomprehensible to me. People need to educate themselves a bit. When you’re 2-0 up, it’s very important to be organized in defense, it’s easy to say ‘come on, let’s all attack'”, Piksi decided to “argue” with the fans at a moment when they were finally enjoying the team’s play.
Perhaps Stojković understands that he got the coaching job precisely because he knows more about football than those who simply enjoy watching it. Or maybe he’s going to clash with those who just want their team to (finally) win. It’s completely unnecessary at a time when the losing streak has been broken and there’s a bit of euphoria ahead of the match against Spain…
