A new gathering in front of the Faculty of Philosophy, after the students who had been blocking the higher education institution for nine months were expelled from it yesterday, has been announced for today, August 27. The gathering is at 3 PM.
It is currently peaceful on campus, reports 021.rs, and as could be seen, a new shift of police arrived to relieve their colleagues who had been on duty near the Faculty of Philosophy since this morning.
Meanwhile, students and citizens gathered last night in front of the Faculty of Philosophy due to the expulsion of students from the higher education institution.
A large number of police officers were also present, who came at the invitation of Dean Milivoje Alanović.
On several occasions, there was pushing between the crowd and the police, which the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dačić, characterized as an attack on the police.

Support from citizens and farmers
Let us recall that the Citizens’ Assemblies of Novi Sad organized a rally last night in front of the Faculty of Philosophy, in support of the students who were expelled from the building of the higher education institution today.
The gathered citizens and students stood at the entrance in front of the building. An agreement was reached that the citizens would move aside and allow the dean to leave, escorted by the police.
The crowd chanted “Administration out” and in front of the entrance was a cordon of police and a cordon of gendarmerie.
Professors who support the students in the blockade provided support to the academics, and farmers on tractors also arrived.
The dean stated at one point that he had called the police because the student office had been broken into.
