Đorđe V. (18), who is partly of Serbian origin, is suspected of killing a worker in a child protection institution in Kampen, Oslo. According to the media, he is a German citizen, while his parents are originally from Serbia.

The victim was identified as Tamima Nibras Juhar (34), who was born in Ethiopia, and the crime occurred on Sunday around 1:15 a.m.

Juhar was on duty at the institution when she was killed.

“Tamima was caring, present, and inclusive. She had friends from many walks of life, cultures, and religions and was considered a unifying center both in her family and in her circle of friends,” her family said.

In front of the child protection institution on Monday, people left flowers and lit candles in memory of the young worker.

One of her closest friends, Marius Petersen, describes her as “one of the warmest people.” “Someone who was always socially engaged, loved people, and fought against injustice,” Petersen told the media.

A German citizen who lived in the institution has been charged with her murder. The suspect was identified as Đorđe V., according to three independent sources who spoke to Document.no. His parents are from Serbia.

The eighteen-year-old connected himself to the murder during questioning, according to police prosecutor Filip Grøn.

The Police Security Service (PST) previously told NRK that they were familiar with the eighteen-year-old because he had expressed right-wing extremist views.

“The woman was an employee in the dormitory where the accused lived. She was a Muslim,” Grøn added. According to NRK’s information, the deceased woman suffered serious stab wounds and cuts.

On Monday, the charges against the eighteen-year-old accused of murder were expanded. He is now also charged with a violation of the terrorism provision.

“As the case stands now, we believe he intended to create fear in a part of the population,” police prosecutor Grøn said at a press conference on Monday morning. The terrorism charge is an additional shock for the family, the defense lawyer told NRK.

“It becomes an even more serious matter and it becomes much bigger for the family. They are in shock. Tamima fought against racism and right-wing extremism. And it is paradoxical that she, who was so concerned about those values, lost her life,” they said.

He is not a Norwegian citizen and was born abroad, the media point out.

Đorđe was arrested around 4 a.m. in central Oslo after he failed to pay for a taxi. He was in possession of a stabbing weapon and said he wanted to attack a mosque.
