Croatian President Zoran Milanović stated, regarding the intrusion of masked men at the Days of Serbian Culture event in Split, that among them were, as he said, “good-for-nothings my age” and that they should be “located, extradited, and sentenced.”
“A dreadful event, a group of women and children gathered — how did these heroes even find out about it? I was in Split two months ago when the Youth Sports Games were organized, many participants were from Serbia. I was there at the invitation of the organizers, and next to me in the center of Split stood a minister from Vučić’s government. The man spoke, and I thought — OK, comfort zone — and no one batted an eye,” Milanović recalled, as reported by N1 Zagreb.
The President of Croatia then continued in an ironic tone, stating that the young men “who so bravely thwarted an attempt at a hostile landing in Split, as if it were enemy ships in 1991, were apparently not ready to confront anyone two months ago, but waited for unprotected people to gather there.”

“Why the masks? I would separate the young ones, there is still hope for them, but it’s a punishable offense and someone must be held accountable. Among them are good-for-nothings my age — those should be located, extradited, and sentenced. HDZ members know how that’s done. They better not even think about doing that again, and we shouldn’t give them too much publicity — that’s what they crave,” Milanović said.
As a reminder, the event in Split marking the Days of Serbian Culture, organized by the Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta, was interrupted last night when a group of several dozen men dressed in black entered the premises. They told those present that they “could not hold the performance there” and that “there was no place for such a program in the month marking the fall of Vukovar.” During the incident, members of the group chanted the Ustaša salute “For the homeland – ready.”
