A real drama unfolded last night near the Preobraženje Monastery, when a child remained trapped on an inaccessible cliff higher than 15 meters. Thanks to the composure of two monks and the quick intervention of members of the Fire and Rescue Unit from Čačak, the operation ended without tragic consequences.
-The incident occurred last night around 8 PM, when the child, for reasons yet to be determined, climbed a cliff from which they could no longer safely descend. Seeing what was happening, two monks from the monastery did not hesitate. They climbed up to the child, remained by their side on the dangerous cliff, and by their presence prevented a tragedy from occurring while waiting for the arrival of professional rescue teams – it was confirmed for the RINA agency.
Firefighter-rescuers from Čačak soon arrived at the scene, and with the help of rescue equipment, they carried out a demanding operation and safely pulled out the child, as well as the two monks.
-The rescue operation was successfully completed, and there were no injuries in this dramatic event. The circumstances under which the child reached the inaccessible cliff will be subject to further verification, but what is certain is that the courage of the monks and the professionalism of the firefighter-rescuers prevented tonight’s drama near the Preobraženje Monastery from having a tragic epilogue – says a well-informed source.
