Social networks in Serbia were flooded with a video of a Russian drone hitting and destroying a fuel tanker on the battlefield in Ukraine, and public attention was drawn to the fact that the surname of the famous Serbian carrier “Rebić” was on the vehicle. Company owner Duško Rebić reveals to Nova.rs what actually happened with the tanker and how it ended up in the war zone.
In recent days, a video of an attack by the Russian army was published on channels on the “Telegram” application, as well as on social networks that follow developments in Ukraine, showing a drone destroying a fuel tanker near the zone of war operations.
What attracted the attention of the domestic public is that the surname “Rebić” was written on the tanker, and social network users stated that it was auto carrier Duško Rebić from Serbia.
The Nova.rs portal contacted Duško Rebić regarding the video that caused public reactions, and he explained to us that the vehicle was owned by his company, but has not been for some time.
“The video caused a large number of reactions, I received a large number of calls. I also saw numerous negative comments, I have not spoken out until now. It is a tanker that was sold more than four years ago to a Ukrainian citizen. They were obliged to remove the surname from the vehicle, but I don’t know what the law is there, so they haven’t done it until now,” Duško Rebić told the Nova.rs portal.
As a reminder, the video disturbed the public, and for now it is not known whether anyone was in the mentioned tanker at the moment of the attack, that is, whether it was empty.
