The acting director of the Čačak hospital, Dr. Dejan Dabić, has resigned from that position, as announced by the Ministry of Health.
“External expert supervision of the work at the GH Čačak is underway, by order of the Ministry of Health, which will verify the quality of professional work, specifically the actions of doctors in the given situation,” announced the Ministry of Health, as reported by Blic.
It is further added that external expert supervision is carried out by eminent doctor-professors from tertiary health institutions in the fields being reviewed.
“All results of the supervision and inspection work at GH Čačak will be transparently available both to the family of the deceased E. M. and to the wider public,” the Ministry stated.
The Ministry of Health sent their most sincere expressions of condolence to the family, noting that the doors of the Ministry of Health are open to them.
We remind you that the investigation into this case is being led by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Čačak, which ordered an autopsy of the child’s body and toxicological analyses.
Due to the death of the girl and the non-transparent reporting to the public, citizens have gathered in front of the administrative building of the hospital in Čačak over the past two days, and last night Director Dabić addressed them and announced that he would resign.
