The citizens of Čačak, Požega, Lučani, Gornji Milanovac, and Arilje still do not have drinking water, due to a new breakdown on the “Rzav” water system. This morning, the residents of Čačak have no water.
According to the Deputy Mayor of Čačak, Vladan Milić, who is also the commander of the City Emergency Situations HQ, additional quantities of drinking water have been provided, and water tankers with drinking water are on duty at various locations in the city, RTS writes.
According to information from the School Administration in Čačak, which is competent for the Moravica District, schools have been instructed that if they are unable to do so because of the water, they should not hold classes today.
Bottled drinking water has been provided for kindergartens by donors.
As Milić said, a larger water leak was noticed at the site of the breakdown, and the teams are on the ground and will try to repair the breakdown on the main pipeline of the Rzav water system, which is on the branch towards Požega, by evening.
Only a few hours after the repair of the old breakdown, due to which the water supply from “Rzav” was interrupted on Monday, a new breakdown occurred at the same place. It was noticed that the system is losing 70 liters of water per second.
As announced, the supply of technical water has not been interrupted; however, in some places, there are problems with technical water as well, as well as with pressure.
Otherwise, the “Rzav” water system supplies around 250 thousand people in several municipalities of western Serbia.
