Our highest-ranked Serbian tennis player in doubles, Aleksandra Krunić, advanced to the second round of Roland Garros, as she, paired with Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan, defeated Jesika Malečková and Miriam Škoch – 2:0, by sets 6:4, 6:1.
The match lasted a total of 1 hour and 25 minutes, and our representative, along with Danilina, dictated the pace from the very first moment, so the question of the winner was never in doubt at any point.
The most uncertain moments were in the first set, when after a break by the Serbian and Kazakhstani players, the opponents from the Czech Republic managed to take their rivals’ serve, but Aleksandra and Anna struck back in the very next game and took the lead in sets.
Later, Krunić and Danilina took complete control over the duel, made two breaks, and celebrated with a convincing 6:1 to advance to the next round.
As a reminder, Aleksandra Krunić and Anna Danilina played in the finals of Roland Garros last year, and they were defeated by Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani from Italy in three played sets.
