Alta Bank, owned by businessman Davor Macura, approved a loan worth as much as €12 million to the company “Loga plus,” owned by Vladan Miketić, who has been charged with attempted aggravated murder in the case against members of the criminal group known as the “Vračar clan.” What is particularly striking is that the company, which had reported losses in previous years, received a loan almost 138 times greater than its total revenue over a four-year period, the weekly magazine Radar reveals.
The loan was used to purchase part of the Albanija Palace in central Belgrade, covering an area of 3,324 square meters, which was later mortgaged. The purchase of this property is the subject of a financial investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, which requested that the Ministry of Internal Affairs collect the necessary information as early as May 26. However, as the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Radar, the police had not responded to the request even after five months, while questions about the source of the money, the approval of the multimillion-euro loan, and the circumstances surrounding the purchase remain unanswered.
