The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that publicly presenting data about the “Senjak” case endangered the investigation into the aggravated murder of Aleksandar Nešović.

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that by presenting data from the investigation and publishing the statements of suspects and witnesses in the media, the investigation is endangered, as well as the safety of the defendants and witnesses.

“The text published in a weekly magazine is particularly worrying because, along with presenting incorrect information and comments, it directly targets certain individuals whose responsibility is being determined,” the VJT states.

They state that confidentiality must be ensured in order to shed light on all the circumstances of the criminal-legal event and to determine the existence of criminal responsibility of the suspects for the commission of criminal offenses.

The Beta agency reminds that the VJT did not react when the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, disclosed details of the murder and the removal of traces of the murder in the restaurant “27” on Senjak to the media.

What did Radar publish today?

As a reminder, Radar published a series of texts today describing what the complete defense of the head of the Belgrade Police, Veselin Milić, looked like, and how an SNS official helped the suspects flee, in connection with the criminal offense of aggravated murder.

The suspect Dejan Stojić, who was arrested on May 15 on suspicion of helping Saša Vuković and Mario S flee, is an SNS official in Stara Pazova, Radar writes.

During the arrest of Stojić, the VJT announced that 10,000 euros were found on him, as well as the passports of Saša Vuković and Mario S, Radar states.

Saša Vuković is suspected of aggravated murder, and it is also being investigated whether there are elements of the criminal offense of money laundering. Mario S is suspected of helping Vuković in committing the criminal offense.

Veselin Milić denied that he was present when the incident occurred, and he denied knowing that a shooting had taken place, according to the text published by Radar.

Background of the case

The body was found on May 21 in a barrel on the territory of the municipality of Inđija, in the presence of public prosecutors of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecution later confirmed that it was the body of Aleksandar Nešović.

As a reminder, Nešović was, as suspected, killed in the restaurant “27” on Senjak. It is suspected that Saša Vuković, aka Boske, shot him, in the presence of the recent head of the Belgrade police, Veselin Milić, who, along with three other police officers from his security detail, as suspected, participated in removing the traces of the crime.

Custody was initially ordered for 11 people, including the former police chief Veselin Milić. Milić is charged with the criminal offenses of Failure to report a criminal offense and perpetrator and Assisting a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense – with the aim of covering up an attempted aggravated murder.

However, one person was released from custody, so 10 people currently remain in custody.
