Damon Albarn, the frontman of the bands “Blur” and “Gorillaz”, recently stayed in Belgrade and on that occasion tattooed something particularly interesting to his fans in Serbia.
Photos of his new tattoos appeared on networks, and they are two words written in Cyrillic – “levo” (left) and “desno” (right), on opposite hands.
The mistake is, obviously, intentional.
Many in the comments wondered why he decided to tattoo exactly that, but there is no official information for now.
“Did he try ćevapi, what does he say?”, “I knew he was a Serb”, “What a legend”, “I hope he was at the protest at Slavija”, are some of the comments.
Damon Albarn is a British musician, singer, songwriter, and producer, best known as the frontman of the cult band “Blur” and co-founder of the virtual band “Gorillaz”. He is considered one of the key figures of the nineties Britpop era, and during his career, he gained a reputation as an artist who constantly pushes the boundaries of genres – from alternative rock and electronica to hip-hop and world music.
In addition to his work with the groups “Blur” and “Gorillaz”, Albarn has participated in numerous musical projects, composed music for film and theater, and collaborated with artists around the world. His influence on contemporary music is reflected in the combination of experimentation, pop sensibility, and a multimedia approach that was particularly emphasized through Gorillaz.
