Officials of the ministry of economy in Pristina entered the Serbian Railways facility in Zvečan and removed the Cyrillic sign from it, placing their own Latin one, written in Albanian and then in Serbian.
At the same time, a blue-and-yellow flag, which symbolizes the so-called statehood of the unilaterally declared independence in KiM, was hung on the facility.
The Minister of Economy in a technical mandate, Artane Rizvanolli, otherwise an official of Albin Kurti’s Self-Determination movement, was also present. The raid and takeover of the Serbian Railways building was also carried out in Leposavić. The raid on the Serbian Railways buildings in Zvečan and Leposavić occurs on the first day of the campaign for the early parliamentary elections on June 7, RTS reminds.
According to Kosovo Online, the Kosovo Police, with several special units jeeps, blocked the approach to the building where the Railway Station in Zvečan is located this morning.
As they state, they assisted during the takeover of these premises, and somewhat later, a Kosovo flag and a board with the inscription “Railway Infrastructure of Kosovo” were placed in front of the offices belonging to Serbian Railways.
Several police and armored jeeps are still located in front of the building and in its surroundings.
These premises were visited by ministers in the technical mandate of the Kosovo government, Dimal Basha, Xhelal Sveçla, and Artane Rizvanolli.
In a statement to the media, Sveçla said that this was the takeover of another, as he stated, “parallel institution of Serbia in Kosovo,” and that the revitalization of this station is planned.
“This is one of the last parallel illegal institutions of Serbia in Kosovo, and we will continue to act if we discover another one. This will be part of the reconstruction project of the entire railway network of Kosovo,” Sveçla pointed out.
