Global music star Ricky Martin has expressed support for the victory of the student movement in Serbia by sharing a post about the parliamentary election results on his Instagram profile.
The famous singer shared a text on his Instagram Story stating that the student-led protest movement had inflicted a historic defeat on Aleksandar Vučić in the elections.
The text shared by Ricky Martin reads:
“The students have won. The student-led protest movement in Serbia defeated longtime authoritarian leader Aleksandar Vučić in the country’s parliamentary elections.”
Description of the movement The movement was described in the shared post as a historic phenomenon that had grown from local university protests into a powerful nationwide movement.
Ricky Martin had previously visited Belgrade in June of the same year, where he performed at the Belgrade River Fest and expressed great enthusiasm for Serbia, its people and its food.
