The curtain has fallen on the 2025 European Junior Boxing Championship, hosted by the City of Novi Pazar and Serbia. The final day of competition featured male finals in 13 weight categories at the “Pendik” Hall, where Serbia claimed gold with a victory by Pavle Popović.
Representing Serbia in the finals were three young aces: Pavle Popović in the 46kg category, Tarik Rašljanin in the 63kg category, and Andrija Trajković in the 70kg category.

Popović’s Golden Performance
Right at the start of the second session, Popović faced off against Armenia’s Suren Bablumyan. The young Serbian representative entered the match forcefully, unleashing a series of top-class punches that completely disarmed his opponent. In the end, it was a celebration for the Serbian boxer and a gold medal that propelled him to the top of junior boxing in Europe.
“I dreamt of this gold, I dedicated every day to standing on the top of the podium, I worked and believed in myself, I succeeded, and my happiness knows no bounds. Thank you to the fans for their support, to the coaches, the selector, my club ‘Konstantin’ from Loznica, the Serbian Boxing Federation, and my family. My mother was in the stands, and my father was officially absent. I spoke with him after the match,” said Popović.
Serbia Earns Two Silver Medals
Serbia’s Tarik Rašljanin boxed against Russia’s Maksim Sobolev, delivering an excellent performance, but the Russian ultimately took the gold. The same scenario unfolded in the bout between Serbia’s Andrija Trajković and Russia’s Kiril Minakov. With these results, Serbia also gained two European vice-champions, Tarik and Andrija.
At the continental championship in the junior category, held at “Pendik” Hall, Serbia also secured five bronze medals through four female boxers: Jovana Devetaković (60kg), Mirjana Mastilović (63kg), Anđelina Miletić (70kg), and Jovana Damjanović (57kg), and junior Zejd Gicić (+80kg).
In the overall medal standings, Serbia achieved an impressive fourth position. The best team was Russia, with a total of 26 medals, including 20 gold.
