KRAGUJEVAC RESIDENTS TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS: They came out in front of their buildings and forced SNS supporters to remove their tents after more than a month!

After residents of the “Smolvil” residential complex in Kragujevac filed a complaint with the competent Municipal Inspection and the Kragujevac Police Department, from which they received neither a response nor any reaction, they decided last night to come out in front of their building and address supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) directly, as the party activists had been occupying space belonging to the residents of the buildings with their tents and equipment for more than a month.

As one of the building managers and a resident told N1, the situation became very tense at one point, while police stood between the residents and SNS supporters.

The residents tried to draw attention to the problem because SNS activists, by placing their tents and all their equipment on an area that is not public but belongs to the residents of the buildings, had blocked access to the fire lane and the main transformer station, thereby also endangering their own safety because the area is a high-voltage zone.

Two hours after the argument, the residents believe that the activists received instructions from their superiors, after which the tents were removed from the area belonging to the residential complex.

The Smolvil residents also say that a significantly larger number of SNS supporters were present during their meeting last night than had been the case previously. Although there was an argument and tension, there were no incidents. The tents have now been moved several meters away, onto the middle of the sidewalk, where SNS stands are also located.

The residents of Smolvil managed to resolve the problem of their space being occupied, but the problem of noise and obstructed pedestrian access remains. Therefore, the building managers will also submit a request to the secretary of the Stara Radnička Kolonija local community to take action, so that the problems of the daily noise that residents have also been dealing with for more than a month, as well as the obstruction of movement along the public sidewalk, can finally be resolved.
