AMERICA INFORMED ALLIES: A ground invasion of Iran increasingly likely, here’s what the first target will be!

Senior US officials have informed their counterparts in Israel and other countries that it appears Washington has no choice but to launch a ground military operation and seize the Iranian island of Kharg, the Israeli Jerusalem Post writes.

America ready for invasion of Iranian island

Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, is Iran’s main hub for oil exports, with 90 percent of crude oil going to China.

Within the US administration, discussions have been taking place in recent days about occupying the island in order to force Iran to end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Thousands of Marines in the Middle East

A US official confirmed to the Post that “the US military has accelerated the deployment of thousands of Marines and naval personnel to the Middle East.”

This deployment includes a group featuring the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer, which functions as a light aircraft carrier, along with the amphibious transport docks USS Portland and USS Comstock.
