The Serbian Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Botos near Zrenjanin was engulfed by a large fire this morning, and according to initial information, a large part of the facility collapsed while firefighters were trying to localize the fire.
As reported by the 192 portal, citing Dnevnik, firefighting teams came out to the field immediately after the report and are currently extinguishing the fire on the religious facility in Toza Markovic Street.
For now, it is not known whether there are any injuries.
According to information from the Police Directorate in Zrenjanin, the fire was reported in the morning hours, after which the competent services responded urgently. The cause of the outbreak of the fire is not yet known.
This is the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, built in 1783, which was declared a cultural monument.
