The flower shop “Imela” in Konjarnik was set on fire for the third time in six months, when unknown attackers threw a Molotov cocktail during the past night. The owner, Jovan Nenadic, points out for Nova that the establishment from which his entire family lives has been destroyed.
As we previously reported, security cameras recorded the moment of the attack, when three masked men arrived armed with axes and clubs, broke the shop window, and threw a Molotov cocktail into the facility.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, and major material damage was caused.
The owner of “Imela,” Jovan Nenadic, told Nova that the attack occurred this morning at 02:04, and that this is the third time their flower shop has been set on fire.
“The fire was extinguished, but, unfortunately, total material damage was caused. The state of the shop and everything that was inside is terrible and distressing. The space from which our entire family lives, and in which work, effort, and love were invested for years, has been destroyed,” says Jovan Nenadic.
He points out that, due to the seriousness of the situation and the extent of the damage, the flower shop will not be operating in the coming period until the consequences of the fire are remediated and the space is renewed again.
“Until we begin with the cleaning and renovation, we have no precise information on when that will be. We hope that the competent authorities will determine all the circumstances of this event. We are grateful to everyone providing support in these difficult moments,” Nenadic emphasized.
Otherwise, the Nenadic family has been actively supporting and participating in the student and civil struggle against the current regime for more than a year, and they believe that this is precisely the motive for these attacks.
