ACTOR GAGI JOVANOVIĆ REVEALS: “Željko Mitrović Offered Me Movies to Drop the Protests!”

Unlike the president, who emphasizes that he does not read Danas, Željko Mitrović, owner of Pink, apparently does, judging by the fact that, according to actor Dragan “Gagi” Jovanović, he reacted very quickly to his New Year’s interview.

“I was waiting for the New Year in a peaceful atmosphere, with my family and grandson, when he called me and offered me to make five movies and I don’t know how many series. He offered that ‘we’ work, and that I drop this, because it has already failed, everything. He actually wants to save me, to help me…” says Dragan Gagi Jovanović with a laugh.

To Mitrović’s offer, Gagi Jovanović only responded with: “Uh-huh…”, but, as he says, he believes that his interlocutor could easily tell by his tone of voice that the answer was ironic.

“I added at the end: ‘Okay, get in touch,’” Jovanović recounts, noting that there are people who think everything can be bought.

In the interview for Danas, Gagi Jovanović did not mention Željko Mitrović by name, but spoke about the media mogul who offered him a script, as well as delivering it by helicopter to Zlatibor.

Below is a portion of the questions and answers from that interview, in which Željko Mitrović, it seems, could easily recognize himself.

Did your participation in the protests cost you professionally?
– Of course it did. Many offers existed before that – for films, plays, commercials. I decided not to work while all of this was going on.

Did you receive offers from the government or people close to them?
– There were offers from the authorities as well, for an ambassadorial position. One media mogul who has a helicopter wanted me to act in a play for him. I told him to bring the script. He called two or three more times, and when I asked again for the script, he said: “I’ll come by helicopter to Zlatibor to bring it to you.” I said: “Please don’t come by helicopter here (laughs), don’t disturb the nature.” And, of course, it was obvious that he didn’t have the script.

A student or anyone from the street who loves art – anyone – comes and asks: “Can you look at what I wrote?” I want to do that, and I’ve never refused anyone. It’s a different story when I tell them what I really think about it.
