Dijana Hrka, mother of the late Stefan Hrka, spoke at the commemorative gathering in Novi Sad on the anniversary of the collapse of the Railway Station canopy. In her brief speech, she stated that she would continue her fight for justice and announced that she would begin a hunger strike across from the so-called “Ćacilend.”
“Thank you to the students who keep me alive. I want to thank all of you, bikers, veterans, and us, ordinary people. Today is the saddest day for all of us, today Novi Sad is crying, but I am fighting so that no mother ever cries again, no sister, so that no one among us ever cries again. I want to send a message to Aleksandar Vučić to call elections,” said Dijana Hrka, mother of the late Stefan, in an emotional speech at the commemorative gathering in Novi Sad on the anniversary of the tragedy.
She added that she must distance herself from the students and from the people, and announced that she will continue to fight on her own.
“This is my fight, which I must see through to the end. I will now separate myself; I am entering this fight alone by going on a hunger strike. I must, it is my duty. I want to know who killed my child and who killed 16 people. Someone must be held accountable for this. So, I will go on a hunger strike in front of the City Assembly, across from Ćacilend. Thank you all for everything, for the love and support, thank you, my people,” she said.
