Today marks 24 years since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the United States, one of the most tragic events. The Consul of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, paid tribute to the victims and reminded that there were also our fellow countrymen among them.

“On this day, we remember the events of September 11, 2001, so that we would never forget the tragedy that struck not only the city of New York, but the entire world. With this, we want to pay tribute to the 2,977 innocent victims, among whom were our fellow countrymen Serbs,” said Consul Božović.

“We also remember them, as well as their families, friends and all who still bear the burden of that tragic event today. We also pay tribute to the courage and selflessness of the members of the emergency services, as well as the spirit of the citizens of New York who jointly participated in the search for the missing and selflessly provided help. Today reminds us of the importance of unity, compassion and commitment to peace and understanding, which are the path to a better future for all,” he added.
