27 years after his death in Kosovo and Metohija in a conflict with UÇK terrorists, policeman Nebojša Savić has a street named after him in his hometown of Manjak near Vladičin Han.

Nebojša was the first victim of the Vranje company of the Special Police Units (PJP), who was killed on August 6, 1998, in the village of Rakovina, halfway between Đakovica and Klina.

At an important road intersection in Rakovina, while he was on guard, a projectile from a rocket launcher was fired at Savić and his colleagues.

The street name sign was unveiled by Nebojša’s son

Savić was killed on the spot, while one of his colleagues was wounded. The sign with the new street name was unveiled by Nebojša’s son Milovan, who was still a baby when his father was killed.

All present then paid tribute and laid flowers and wreaths on Nebojša’s grave.

The killed policemen of the Vranje company during the conflict with terrorists in Kosovo and Metohija got street names on the initiative of the Association of Veterans of Special Police Units, to which they belonged.
