Austrian police have confirmed that there are no citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina among the victims in Graz, said BiH Ambassador to Austria Siniša Bencun for RTRS, but according to unofficial information, two people of BiH origin are among the killed.

“Unofficially, we learn that two young people of BiH origin died, and that at least one person of BiH origin is among the injured. We express our sincere condolences to the families of all victims, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” Bencun stated.

The imam of the “Bošnjak” community in Graz, Hafiz Sabahudin Hasić, confirmed to Bosnian and Herzegovinian media that the victims were a 17-year-old student, K.J., and a student, H.A., who do not have BiH citizenship although they are of Bosnian and Herzegovinian origin.

A girl of BiH origin was also wounded in the shooting; she is in stable condition and out of life-threatening danger after surgery, media reported.

Austria has declared a three-day mourning period after a former student killed ten people and then himself at a high school in Graz, in the worst school massacre in the country’s modern history.
