Seven police officers were shot while attempting to prevent a “suicide attempt,” and the suspect who opened fire on the officers was found dead in his apartment following the incident, AP reported today.

The officers were shot on Wednesday evening, but none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, according to San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus.

McManus described the shooter as a 40-year-old man and stated that the police had been called by a member of his family.
