Health Protection
Anish Mahajan, Deputy Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, has urged residents to wear appropriate respiratory masks, such as N95 or P100, to protect themselves from harmful particles in smoke and ash.
“These masks are specifically designed to reduce exposure to fine particles that can penetrate deep into the lungs and cause serious health problems,” Mahajan said at a press conference.
It was emphasized that ordinary masks, such as cloth or surgical masks, are not effective in protecting against ash and smoke, and respirators that provide more complete protection are recommended.
Residents are urged to follow the instructions of the authorities and take all necessary measures to protect their health during this emergency.
