WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO THE SERBIAN FLAG: New version of the incident at the Bosnia and Herzegovina match surfaces!

A video recorded after the World Cup match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar has drawn significant attention on social media. While the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team celebrated a 3:1 victory and qualification for the round of 16 (where they will face the United States), public attention focused on an incident in the stands.

According to initial information reported by the “Crna Hronika BiH” profile, the incident began when a man in the stands started waving the flag of Serbia. As stated, this angered the most passionate Bosnia and Herzegovina supporters, who, after a verbal conflict, decided to take the flag from him. However, a completely different version of the story soon came to light.

Turnaround and a different version of the story

The portal “Slobodna Bosna” denied these claims, stating that allegations of provocation were incorrect and that members of the supporter group “BH Fanaticos” actually reacted in a highly responsible manner.

-A careless supporter wearing a Bosnia and Herzegovina jersey previously took the Serbian flag from a girl who had come to watch the match. Contrary to media interpretations, the presence of the Serbian flag at this match did not represent any provocation, but rather a common occurrence at the World Cup. In the same section, there were supporters with the insignia of Croatia, North Macedonia, as well as various global clubs.

This refutes malicious comments on social media which stated: “They took away the Serbian flag, while the Croatian flag does not bother them.”

Reaction of the “BH Fanaticos”

The situation escalated when the mentioned individual raised the taken flag upside down, which in the supporter world symbolizes a “war trophy” or spoil. Members of the group “BH Fanaticos,” recognizable by identical shirts with the group’s logo, immediately reacted.

Several members of the group approached the supporter demanding that he return the flag to the girl from whom it had been taken, which he categorically refused. After he maintained his stance even after insistence, one of the ‘Fanaticos’ forcibly took the flag from him and passed it to a colleague, who immediately ran to return it to its owner, as can clearly be seen in the video recording – it is stated in the text of “Slobodna Bosna”.

There is still no official confirmation of what exactly happened.
