Russian President Vladimir Putin could meet with his American counterpartDonald Trumpduring the upcoming APEC summit “if an opportunity arises,” Putin’s foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov told Vesti News Agency and Pavel Zarubin on Sunday.
Ushakov emphasized that both leaders plan to attend the event and that they could meet on the sidelines of the summit.
The two leaders last met in person in August 2025 in Alaska.
Earlier, Ushakov, following Putin’s meeting with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, emphasized that the Russian president would maintain personal contact with Trump. The APEC summit is scheduled to take place on November 18 and 19 in Shenzhen, China.
