The first Serb to walk across the frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia, Ivan Mladenović from Šid, is setting off on a new humanitarian pilgrimage from the Gračanica monastery to the Ostrog monastery, covering a distance of 300 km, for his fellow citizen Jana Tirkajlo, in order to invite good people to help collect funds for her treatment.
-Jana was diagnosed with a lack of bone growth in length. The disease was confirmed by genetic testing. Jana needs therapy with vosoritide (Voxzogo), the only medicine that affects the cause of the disease and allows children with achondroplasia to grow and develop without severe complications – Ivan tells RINA.
He adds that given the severity of her health condition and the need for continuous treatment, therapies, diagnostics, and supervision, the family is unable to provide all the necessary funds on their own, which is why they are appealing to all humane people for help in the form of donations.
