Although the chairperson refused to hold the vote for the president of the Municipal Assembly of Kula by secret ballot, as the Rules of Procedure dictate, the councilors nevertheless voted behind a screen after a break. Previously, the SNS candidate Velibor Milojičić for the president of the Municipal Assembly was not elected to this position, because one councilor of the authorities voted against this proposal. However, after counting all 37 ballots, Milojičić was nevertheless elected as the president of the Assembly.
After Velibor Milojičić, the SNS candidate for the president of the Municipal Assembly of Kula, was not elected to this position because one councilor of the authorities voted against this proposal, a debate occurred in the assembly hall. Namely, the authorities tried to make a decision to repeat the vote without arguments, to which the councilors of the students and the opposition rebelled.
In the secret ballot, 18 councilors voted for the SNS candidate Velibor Milojičić, while 19 voted against, which would mean that one councilor of the authorities crossed to the opposite side.
The voting was then repeated.
After counting all 37 ballots, 19 councilors voted for Milojičić as the president of the Assembly, while 18 councilors were against.
“Congratulations to the New Year’s president,” the chairperson stated after the announcement of the results.
Otherwise, after the debate between the councilors of the authorities and the students, because the chairperson refused to conduct the vote secretly, the councilors nevertheless voted behind the screen, according to the Rules of Procedure.
As a reminder, the chairperson and the councilors of the authorities requested that the vote be repeated, but not by secret ballot, to which the councilors of the students and the opposition rebelled, claiming it was a violation of the Rules of Procedure.
Then a debate occurred between the councilors of the authorities and the students and the opposition due to the vote for the president of the Municipal Assembly; security entered the hall, and soon after, several members of the police.
