Students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade and members of the EKOF Case Study Club won first place at the international case study competition Wizz Youth Challenge 2026.
In competition with 311 teams and more than 1,000 participants from all over the world, the team consisting of Dunja Salapura, Dunja Martinovic, Aleksandra Ljubenovic, and Aleksandar Nesovic fought for first place and surpassed students from several of the world’s most prestigious universities, it was stated in today’s announcement from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade.
As stated, in addition to the winners, another team of students from the Faculty of Economics consisting of Tara Budimir, Milica Vermezovic, David Mladenovic, and Dobrica Bankovic reached the final round.
The task of the competitors was to devise a strategy to improve the loyalty program of the company Wizz Air.
As many as three competing teams from the Faculty of Economics qualified for the Top 20 semifinals, where they presented their solution to the jury via video call.
This was followed by the finals held in Budapest, where two teams from the Faculty of Economics from Belgrade found themselves among the top six teams on the world stage and presented their final solution before the expert jury of the Wizz Air company.
The jury consisted of a total of 12 top executives of the Wizz Air company, including directors for corporate affairs, human resources, commercial, marketing, and network development.
The solution of the winning team stood out because of its comprehensiveness, simplicity, applicability, and economic cost-effectiveness. The students were invited to participate in the implementation of their idea together with the company’s employees, Tanjug reports.
