The Serbian minifootball national team achieved an impressive victory over Romania and qualified for the semifinals of the European Championship after a spectacular match in which they celebrated with a score of 6:3.

Our national team players showed once again that a duel with one of the strongest teams on the continent particularly suits them, since after the final of the European Championship in Sarajevo, they defeated the Romanians again, this time in an even more convincing manner.

From the very beginning, Serbia imposed a high rhythm and forced the opponent into numerous mistakes with aggressive pressing. Such an approach quickly brought a result, so Stefan Bosnić shook the net with a great volley already in the fourth minute and brought the lead to our team.

Just a few minutes later, a new action by Serbia followed. After an excellent counterattack and an assist from Jovan Bobar, Čedomir Tomčić increased the lead to 2:0 and further boosted the confidence of the Serbian team.

Romania managed to return to the match before going to the break, when Robu took advantage of a moment of carelessness from our defense and reduced the score. However, Serbia showed character in the continuation as well. Bobar, with a fantastic goal in the 29th minute, again took our team to a safer distance.

A period of great struggle followed in which the Romanians, through Dumitresku from a penalty and Mocanu, managed to reach an equalizer, so the score in the middle of the second half was 3:3.

Nevertheless, that is when a response from Serbia followed, which completely broke the opponent. Marko Vujović restored the lead to our team with a spectacular shot, and just two minutes later, Bobar, with his second goal of the match, increased it to 5:3.

The Romanians tried everything to get back into the match, even introducing a goalkeeper-player, but they failed to threaten Serbia’s lead. The dot on the great performance of our national team was placed by Vujović with his second goal of the match, while Robu in the very finish only softened the defeat of his selection.

The hero of the victory was Jovan Bobar with two goals and an assist, while Bosnić, Tomčić, and two-time scorer Vujović also entered the scoresheet.

With this triumph, Serbia secured a placement among the four best national teams at the championship and will continue the fight for a medal. In the semifinals, they will meet the winner of the duel between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan, and the fans hope that our national team players will continue with performances like the one they showed against Romania and win a place in the grand final.
