A Serbian citizen (51) surrendered to the police early this morning, at 3:30 AM, after barricading himself in a house in Dortmund with his children last night, reports the German Bild, which started its report from the scene of the drama with the sentence: It’s over!
The overnight hostage drama, whose actor is allegedly our citizen, has been on the front pages of German media since last night, and the news that the hostage crisis ended successfully appeared this morning as the main headline.
As learned, the hostage crisis was preceded by an incident in a restaurant, after which he fled home and, according to German media reports, held his children hostage.
The German Bild reported that on Tuesday evening, after the incident in the restaurant, he also shot at a police officer, and then barricaded himself in the apartment with his three daughters, aged 7, 10, and 12. Fortunately, after his surrender, the girls escaped without injuries, and after the drama, they were taken over by the police.

And it all started when a man, believed to be a Serbian citizen, attacked guests at a restaurant in Dortmund. The incident allegedly began with a conflict in the restaurant, where the man caused chaos and attacked guests with pepper spray, and then fled by car.
In the meantime, the police received a call from a woman who requested help, and at the moment when the German police arrived in front of the residential building, the mentioned Serbian citizen allegedly shot at one of the police officers. Fortunately, he shot at the police officer’s bulletproof vest, who has only minor injuries, after which he barricaded himself in the apartment with, as German media write, his three daughters.
By the way, the man shot at the police officer from a car, using a small-caliber weapon, when the police tried to stop him after he had attacked guests in the restaurant in Dortmund.
